Our client is a well-respected SME family business operating within the Construction / Building Materials / Retail Industry with a riche history of 40 years trade locally across the West Midlands and further growth planned for the near future.

As a result of the above growth from £10m Turn Over to £20m+, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join the business.
This position will be based from the clients’ offices in WS2 (Walsall) and report into the CEO and work closely with the wider SLT.
Overview
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible to facilitate timeliness and the accuracy of management accounting. You will oversee the management of a small accounting team, with responsibilities for both accounts receivable and accounts payable. You will work closely with the Senior Management team to ensure strong financial measures and procedures are enforced.
Key Responsibilities
• Production of management accounts, producing board packs, management accounts packs, KPI’s, Profit and Loss analysis
• Production of annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
• Experience of working with annual turnover of 13 million plus
• Ownership of the finance function
• Working Capital Management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Cash management and cash flow analysis.
• Oversight of the purchase and sales ledger
• Year-end accounting
• Management of the bank and audit relationships
• Basic leasing and insurance duties
• Preparation of audit pack for statutory auditors
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Reporting to board on variances in management information
• Preparation and overseeing of accounts processes.
• VAT and Tax returns are conducted in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Analyse financial performance and provide variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
The ideal candidate
This position is open to Part Qualified, Qualified and QBE candidates alike however candidate should be / have
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in management accounting or financial analysis (Experience within Manufacturing Construction / Building Materials Desirable)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Kerridge experience desirable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and cost accounting concepts.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
